Members and Friends of Michael Servetus Unitarian Society engage in social action in many ways.  The Social Action Committee meets the first Tuesday of each month.  

Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) - A national, membership organization working to advance human rights throughout the world.  More information on the UUSC's current primary themes of opposing economic injustice, defending civil liberties, and promoting environmental justice can be found at www.uusc.org.  The Social Action Committee promotes "Guest at Your Table," a fund-raiser / membership program for UUSC, encourages families to put money in a box each meal to remember those who are hungry during the holiday season.  Also, UUSC Holiday cards are sold at MSUS. 

Unitarian Universalist Association's Washington Office for Advocacy represents UU perspectives to the U.S. Congress and Administration on legislative and public policy matters.

Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA) - MSUS donates to support the on-going relief programs for people in need right in our neighborhood.  Donations of clothes, non-perishable food items, and money are collected at MSUS for SACA.  Also, members and friends volunteer at SACA.

Alexandra House - MSUS financially supports their services of providing safety, domestic abuse prevention and outreach services to battered women, families and the community.

Meals-on-Wheels - Volunteers deliver meals regularly, and MSUS, also, financially supports the home-delivered meals program.

Affordable Housing - MSUS supports efforts to promote affordable housing.  Members and friends support and work with the Twin Cities' Unitarian Universalist Affordable Housing Project (UUAHP).  Through UUAHP, volunteers have helped build homes with Habitat for Humanity, positively effected public policy, and MSUS contributes to the fund.

Metro Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Alliance (MUUSJA, "moose-jaw") - A Twin Cities alliance of UU social activists collectively working for change.
